Inspect and accept a used ASIC miner

Connect the serial number, physical condition, operating logs and pool output in one acceptance record.

Used but clean twin-fan miner on a test bench with caliper, magnifying glass, inspection lamp and neatly placed plain checklist board without words.

01

Define what is being delivered

Specify model, quantity, accessories, power supply, controller and stated condition in the order. Agree which serial numbers are included and how a mismatch will be handled. Ask whether repairs, board replacements or firmware changes are known. Record the agreed test method and acceptance criteria before shipment, so both parties evaluate the same evidence.

02

Inspect before energizing

Photograph the packaging, labels, connectors and visible condition as received. Look for transport damage, corrosion, loose components or signs of liquid exposure. Manufacturer precautions call for inspecting a new machine too; a used machine deserves the same care. Do not energize equipment showing electrical damage or loose internal parts until the responsible technician has assessed it.

03

Match identity across the evidence

Match the physical serial number with the dashboard and test record where the model exposes it. Save the exact firmware and controller information. A seller’s hashrate screenshot proves little if it cannot be tied to the delivered unit and timestamp. Ask for a continuous, identifiable test record rather than several attractive screenshots from unknown machines.

04

Test under an agreed operating condition

Use suitable power and cooling and record the operating mode. Check board detection, repeated alarms, local output, accepted pool work and measured power together. Compare against the agreed specification and tolerance for that unit. A short test can reveal obvious faults but cannot prove remaining service life; keep those two conclusions separate.

Test under an agreed operating condition
RecordWhy it matters
Serial + test timeConnect results to the delivered unit
Firmware + modeExplain performance conditions
Pool + local outputCheck productive work beyond startup
Power + alarmsReveal instability and abnormal operation
05

Close with a signed result and recovery details

Save passed checks, unresolved issues, photographs and the agreed remedy in one record. Reconfigure administrative access and pool destinations under the new owner’s control. Keep shipping and purchase evidence with the serial list. If a fault appears later, a dated baseline is more useful than trying to reconstruct the original condition from memory.
